I had the joy of experiencing the Flotsam Circus, a whimsical and high-energy performance that brought together acrobatics, comedy, and artistry sailing the Hudson River. As a hobbyist acrobat myself, I appreciate the work and strength it takes to put on a performance. Meeting the artists afterward was just as special, as we shared stories about training, creativity, and what it means to keep pushing boundaries in performance. It was a reminder of why I love this craft: the way it brings people together through movement, laughter, and storytelling. The clown is a necessary, and increasingly rare archetype needed in our society to bring joy when times feel heavy.
